this narrow slit between two stores
hot as a furnace when these century old bricks heat up
if it wasn’t for the fence I would have squeezed through
emerging in what I believe is another world (or so I thought when I was younger)
these passages still catch my eye and images wander through my mind

You think of really cool things to write about. I have a passageway just like this in my hometown between a dance studio and a sandwich shop – it looks so similar it could almost be one and the same. Thank you for noticing the extraordinary in the ordinary.
